Claudia serves as the Director of Membership and Development at Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO). In this role, she leads membership engagement and fundraising efforts to support GEO’s mission of transforming philanthropy to better serve nonprofits and communities.
Previously, as a fundraising consultant, Claudia assisted nonprofit organizations across various sectors including environmental, faith-based, and healthcare. Her work helped these organizations meet their fundraising goals for transformational impact.
Before consulting, Claudia managed grantmaking portfolios at the Women’s Foundation, focusing on organizations supporting survivors of violence and youth of color. She worked to promote systemic change and collaborated with regional funders to increase support for women and girls of color. Her experience also includes conducting research on women’s economic security at the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, contributing to policy discussions in this area.
Now based in Washington D.C., Claudia draws on her experience as an immigrant from Mexico. Her contributions to the field of philanthropy have been recognized through her selection as a 2019 Hispanics in Philanthropy Líderes Fellow and a 2021 Equity in Philanthropy Fellow.
Throughout her career, Claudia has consistently worked to advance social justice and create lasting positive change in the communities she cares deeply about.
