Nina Ford

Nina Ford (she/her) joined GEO as Director of Communications in April 2025, where she leads a full range of communications and marketing strategies to advance GEO’s mission and drive field-level change. Nina brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit and philanthropic communications, storytelling, and digital engagement centered on equity and social justice. Before joining GEO, she served as the Director of Strategic Communications and Public Relations at Independent Sector, a national membership organization and advocate for nonprofits and philanthropies. Previously, she was the Director of Communications and Marketing at Global Fund for Children, a global grantmaker and GEO member. Her prior experience includes serving as a Communications Officer at Equimundo and teaching English at an elementary school in Madrid. Nina holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and in International Relations from Tufts University. Originally from Massachusetts, she now lives in Washington, DC, with her family.
