In her role as Program Manager, Partnerships Afia will join the program team where she will cultivate partnerships that further our new strategic framework, strengthen field presence, and deliver impactful GEO programming. Afia comes with a rich record of engagement within the philanthropy serving ecosystem and with over a decade of nonprofit/association experience that has helped her develop a unique perspective on making a global impact. As a first-generation Ghanaian-American, her identity and background in social policy has given her inspiration to be a global citizen and social change agent.
Most recently she served as Director, Equity & Inclusion at Exponent Philanthropy. In her six years at Exponent, she also served in membership and marketing roles. Prior to Exponent, Afia worked at the National Center for Family Philanthropy managing marketing and development work. Afia also serves as board chair for Service Never Sleeps and volunteers with other organizations. When she is not daydreaming of warm weather and houseplants, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and exploring the world through food, soccer, yoga, and fashion.
