Sharing Sugar: Building Capacity with Black-led Organizations

Join GEO, T. Rowe Price Foundation and leaders of three organizations for a conversation on how grantmakers can fund capacity building within Black-led organizations.

Event Details

Are you interested in finding new ways to build capacity for Black-led organizations in your area?

This webinar will explore a unique funding model employed by the T.Rowe Price Foundation and The Baltimore Legacy Builders Collective (BLBC). The BLBC is a partnership created to build capacity, sustainability and impact for three Black-led organizations serving Baltimore youth. The organizations are collaborating to increase their collective and singular impact while “sharing sugar”: sharing resources and building economies of scale together. Funded by the T. Rowe Price Foundation since 2019, this initiative has allowed the three organizations, The Be.Org, B-360 and I AM Mentality, to support the employment of a Chief Development Officer to leverage the invested funding into a robust pathway for fiscal sustainability.

This webinar will offer participants an opportunity to interact with T. Rowe Price Foundation President John Brothers and the leaders of the respective organizations to learn about the opportunities and challenges of this model and other innovative ways to increase impact.

Program Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the T. Rowe Price Foundation model for funding capacity building.
  • Create space for open discussion about the opportunities and challenges of this model for grantmakers.
