Scaling Change Through Community

An encore to a popular GEO 2024 National Conference session about how community-led collaborative funds are remaking philanthropy.

Collective giving is a movement of hundreds of thousands of people all around the world that is rooted in the practice of communal caretaking. Collaborative funds are a new(er) vehicle in philanthropy changing how large-scale systemic challenges are addressed. There is a growing subset of these collaborative funds which have decision-making held by the communities served. This community call, an encore to a popular 2024 GEO National Conference session, will share the stories and insights of several community-led collaborative funds.

Community leadership is not and should not be an afterthought to a grantmaking strategy, and these funds will share the boldness of what happens when community leadership is at the forefront. Join us to gain a deeper understanding of collaborative funds and explore potential partnerships for community-led collaborative funds in your work.
