A conversation about how foundation governance can transform to meet the needs and align to the values of our sector.
Have you been thinking about and/or experimenting with better board governance as a foundation trustee or as a staff leader working with a grantmaker board? Do you suspect that a foundation board that you sit on or work with could serve in a more meaningful, valuable, and equitable way? Transformation of our governance structures is within reach – and GEO is eager to learn what those in our community have tried, what you have learned, and what you need to move forward.
Please join GEO, BoardSource, Robert Sterling Clark Foundation and Elmina B. Sewall Foundation for an agenda-setting conversation about how foundation governance can transform to meet the needs and align to the values of our sector. Participants will think together about how we move away from stale orthodoxies and abstract notions to create board governance that is equitable and meaningful in concrete and practical terms. You will share stories and discuss challenges, identify the questions that need to be answered, and consider what support would help you shift your board’s culture and practice toward a more meaningful, equitable and valuable reality.
