Capacity Building and a Culture of Care

Creating sustainable nonprofit organizations that can advance their missions and contribute to social change requires an investment in their capacity. Grant funding is essential, however, capacity-building measures like training, peer-based communities, and infrastructure support are also necessary to see long-term success.

Join us in conversation with Camaro West from Peace is Loud and Denae Peters from the Perspective Fund. They will showcase how Peace is Loud’s ability to take risks, develop innovative programs, expand their network of trusted collaborators, and employ labor-saving methodologies has been strengthened by the unique grantee-support programs of the Perspective Fund. These programs include funding for critical capacity-building needs, virtual convening grantee opportunities, and access to resources that are key to organizational health, like human resources and fundraising coaching. Their candid conversation will explore how capacity building creates reciprocal benefits and a culture of care that strengthens both organizations.

Following the conversation, they will lead an interactive “Strategy Swap” where participants can workshop tactics that they are considering implementing to support their grantee communities’ current needs.
