Strategic Learners Network

The Strategic Learners Network is a peer community of GEO members who are committed to leveraging research, evaluation, and learning to transform philanthropic culture and practice.

About the Community

GEO and its members have long understood that transforming philanthropic practice requires a commitment to strategic and applied learning. The Strategic Learners Network offers GEO members opportunities to explore together how to use research, evaluation and learning to lead change in their organizations and the field.

GEO members whose primary job function is to connect research, evaluation and organizational strategy. This includes individuals with responsibility for guiding internal learning for staff, leveraging external learning to improve grantmaking practices, and capturing and sharing learning with external audiences. As part of the network, members work to strengthen our professional community and sharpen our understanding of how to drive change in our organizations and beyond.

Members of the network come together to discuss shared questions, challenges and opportunities we are encountering in our work. Through virtual and in-person convenings and a network listserv, we share resources and insights and develop ideas for communications and outreach to advance the practice of strategic learning in philanthropy.
